Raleigh Twenty Fork Replacement - cut sterring tube?
I just started ripping apart two matching Twenty's I got a few weeks ago, and one has a bent up fork - the part that goes in the steering tube is all bent to hell. I tried straightening it, but it's got to be just absolutely perfect, something I'm not likely to be with a hammer and a vise.
I know the extension on the fork is really long, and everyone talks about cutting the wide bottom bracket to 68mm to fit a standard BB, so can I cut down the steering tube to fit a standard fork? Seems completely doable to me...am I missing something?
