I tried 42x16, great for cruising around the neighborhood, waaaay too low for commuting.
i ride those streets all the time with that gear with plenty of speed.. which goes to show.. you just gotta try a few thhings and figure out what works for you.. just accept the fact that youll have cogs annd chainrings around the house.. thats how it goes..
