Daily Affirmation with Stuart Smalley

Today after work I'm going for a RECOVERY ride.
I'm going to keep my heart rate below 150 beats per minute at all times, even when climbing up the hills because TODAY is a RECOVERY RIDE.
I'm not going to look at my average speed because today is a RECOVERY ride.

I will be passed by chubbier, older, posing-er riders today and perhaps even beach cruisers & kids on BMX bikes with training wheels, but I'm okay with that, because today's ride will be at a RECOVERY pace.

Today after work I'm going for a ride at RECOVERY pace, and I will not, under any circumstances* allow my heart rate to exceed 150 beats per minute.

*Not even a tsunami, zombie attack or being chased by an elephant with a great white shark on its back. (I'm completely serious about this.)
