I was Rominger fan. I suppose it's an Aussie thing to go for an underdog....but one with a really good chance.

I think it was 1993 when I thought Rominger cracked Indurain on one of the climbs -- can't remember exactly -- but "Indy" was either having a bad day, or he caught back up....not sure.

When Rominger set that hour record, I went off. I was carrying this mag around for weeks, annoying the crap out of EVERYONE -- even people who didn't give a shit about riding.




When Rominger was out here, I knew a guy who spotted him on Beach Road, and had a big chin-wag
