Thanks a LOT guys for your positive comments, they are very much appreciated given the time and effort I put in to get everything right! It has been an amazing journey, starting out with just a frame and a headset and ending up with this result.

@KonaAaron Snake: The frame is in the same original condition as when I got it, no repaint. The pictures doesn't really show it, but there are some small spots of rust near the cable guides and lugs, and the chrome is a bit flaky here and there. I'm a little bit puzzled how this has happened though, seeing that the frame itself seems to have very few miles on it. Perhaps a case of bad storage in a damp environment? I'm not sure how I will deal with the tiny rust areas, I don't want it to spread, neither do I want to mess up the original paint..

@Fivethumbs: Interesting info! So apparently the SLX New/PRX alongside TSX were among the last Cyclex tubes before Nivacrom was introduced? The sticker does say "reinforzati elicoidali" or something like that, giving a hint that it may be somewhere inbetween the old SLX and TSX. In other words, Cyclex steel with different thickness from regular SLX and/or helical reinforcements. I did check the inside of the seat tube though, and no spirals there.. :S Maybe signore Sancineto ran out of SLX decals, or used different tubes for the seat/top/downtube? I curse myself for not weighing the frameset before I built it up!

@lotek: I posted in that thread! The other linked thread about applying framesaver was where I got the information about the company being based in Cuneo. Now that I actually look at a map, I see Cuneo is situated right south of Torino, so you're absolutely correct.

Again, thanks for all your replies!

*cheers*
