No need for loose tension on the pedals. Unclip 1 foot 2 or 3 yards before the stop, and the ability to trackstand for a few seconds makes lights and stop signs a breeze!

So you unclip, but but keep it on the pedals? That makes sense. Personally, I just try not to stop...
By the way, what they hell is a stoker? And no, I haven't captained a tandem period. I have trouble getting people to ride with me, let alone on the same bike!
I wasn't suggesting that anyone loosen tension, jsut wondering if that was the case.
