It's always easy to spot the riders that drove to the start point of their ride, forgot a significant piece of equipment, but did the ride anyway like a hero. Bibs sans jersey is the silliest; tennis shoes with speedplays is the manliest (saw a Cat 5 do this at GMR this year).
In 2009 when PAA did the SDSR Bonelli recon ride I forget my jersey and ended up doing the ride in a full PAA kit but in a yellow deep v-neck, it was pretty fantastic.
