I finally understand the Mind of Pcad. The reason I often don't like new bicycles initially, then like them more over time. Here's the psychology:
I ride my bikes a lot. 12K+ miles annually. So when I get on a new bicycle I'll note things about the bicycle's ride that are different from my old bike. Good and bad. But I focus on the negative things, because I'm afraid those traits will make me hate the bike. I think I'll never get used to them. That tends to overwhelm the stuff about the new bike that I do like. Then, more often than not, I become accustomed to he negative things and they disappear into the background, and I start to appreciate the new positive traits more.
So it went with the Scott. Really didn't like it so much for the first week. Now after 4-6 weeks, I LOVE the bike. That happened with the Six13 at first too.
This falls under the 'We Fear Change' category.
