The problem with the question of "how fast you have ridden your bent" is that anyone can say anything and there is no official to confirm the claimed speed. Stories about going fast are not accurate like recorded race data.

The only place to find truth about how fast recumbents are is to check out HPV racing results. Anyone can go fast on any bike riding on a downhill grade. It is not the same as a sanctioned event where all riders ride the same grade, same headwind and the same course distance with chip timing or race officials calculating speeds.
