You have to pace yourself, and as you get stronger, your pace will increase. Perhaps if you had lightened up the pace early, your legs would have lasted longer. This comes with experience.

Whatever the case, if you can do 80 and your legs were the only problem (not your butt, neck, knees, etc.), then you are well on your way. Keep it up.
