Hey folks. Just to let you know I took a seatpost off another Giant MTB, which was about 15-20cm longer, and am using that instead as it fits well inside. the 30.8mm diameter of the seatpost is a pain though, as I can't find any new ones locally (hence ripping it out of the other bike). Cranky Old Road may be right - looking at it, the bottom of the one that WAS in looks different to the bottom of the standard one I replaced it with.
