shimano wh-r500 hubs front & back. back spins fine, front doesn't. wheel spun fine before it was put in the "storage area" under the deck.

so now that i've learned my lesson i'd like to get it fixed.

first thing i did was take it apart, degrease everything, put some new grease in there (rotella lithium complex 2) from wal-mart. probably not the best to use maybe (or is it ok?) but it's all i had at the moment and wanted to see if it would fix the problem. adjusted cones/lock nuts as best i could and it spins, but can feel friction in there and there's a good amount of play. was my first try at repacking a hub.

so next i'm going to try getting some new replacement bearings and a different kind of grease from the LBS and see if this works. could it be the bearings causing this? only problem i noticed about them was they're not shiny anymore....didn't notice any cracks or anything, but i didn't have a magnifying glass either.

if that doesn't work, what do i do?

and a related question--where can i get a nice wheelset for cheap (and i mean cheap) That will hold 280 lbs for a few months? is it even possible?
