left late for work today (waiting for my wife who wanted me to bike into work with her). Headwind meant her usual speed, which isn't all that bad, was much less than usual. Normally riding with her is one of the great pleasures of my day- but today I really wanted (needed) to make time. When finally we got to her turn off to work I hammered into the wind the rest of the way and ended up 8 minutes late- I don't like being late.

The ride home was far more pleasant with the wind at my back and we rode home together. Unfortunately, the temp had dropped and she had no gloves, no extra jacket- fortunately, I did- so she ended up wearing them.

All in all I wouldn't trade riding my bike to work and back with my wife for the world- it was worth it. Once she's ridden a bit more regularly again, she's a seasonal commuter, she'll get back in the groove. It was a great commute today.
