Snapped brake boss!

Just the other day, I picked up a old Fuji mountain bike frame (no bb, no headset or fork) from the local co-op, and I'm building up into a 29" commuter/crazy moustache barred/cyclocross bad weather bike. Everything seems fine on the bike, but one of the brake bosses on the back is snapped off. Is that something than can be repaired, or should I cut my losses, saw them both off, and install sidepull brakes? I was hoping they would be repairable, because I'm partial to contilever brakes, but I don't even know if they'll reach up to the 700c tire I'm cramming into the mountain frame.

I've seen the bosses that just screw into mountain forks.. is it possible to just drill these out to install one of those?

Thanks for your help!
