yes, disc brakes require good skewers. Ones made from steel, not aluminum and have hidden cams.
aluminum are very soft and will quickly deform under the forces exerted when clamping down the wheel.
open cam designs don't clamp down as hard as hidden cam.


Use shimano or campagnolo skewers.
