That's a beauty. I have no problem with low balling or trying to get something cheap most of the time...I obviously do it too...I just don't think the guy was being that crazy for asking what he asked. He was a little high, but I wouldn't expect to get it for $100 either.

The Merlin I bought was originally priced at $1500...I wanted it but couldn't afford it. I gave him a low ball offer of $700, which I never thought he'd accept but was what I could afford. I explained nicely how much I loved the bike and why I made the offer I made (not because it wasn't worth it, but because I didn't have it) A month later he got tired of dealing with CL flakes and called me. He liked how into the bike I was and liked that I was friendly about things. It's a strategy that can work.
