Bikes: '86 Trek Elance 400; '83 Trek 520; 90s Specialized Crossroads, '84 Trek 610 (wife's), 90s Trek Multitrack (wife's), Cargo Trailers, Burley for the Kids, WeeHoo Trailer

Elance 330 or 400

+1 on the Elance,

Trek made these in the mid-80s. I have an '86 Trek 400 Elance - came with Shimano Light Action Derailller and Shifters (6 speed indexed). Frame is Reynolds 531 with cro-moly stays and fork. However, several bikes of the period have similar frames.

It is a nice ride. The geometry is a little bit more relaxed that then straight out performance bikes. I think the 330 is similar with different components. I also think the 330 didn't have its cable routed through the chainstay (which seems cool until you have to put in a new cable).
