I rode the full 9.25 mile distance to AND from work for Saturday night's shift. Since I've been getting low mileage for about 10 months due to a wrist injury, these rides completely drained me.
After sleeping only 4 hours (and waking up several times to charlie horses), I rode another 2 miles while the weekend warriors were out in force. I kept dropping folks like they were standing still (it helped that my bike weighed about 20 lb less than usual and that my commuting bags weren't causing all sorts of drag).
My bike is getting new handlebars today so hopefully I'll be able to ride without putting weight on my wrist. If so, I'll be working my way back up to full commuting (without burn-out).
