Switching to bar ends...Do I need down tube cable stops?

OK, I've already sort of asked about this, and got some helpful responses, but I could use a little clarification. I'm switching from down tube shifters to bar ends. I just ordered the dia compe ones from Velo Orange:

I was going to go with some of the old Suntour barcons, but it seemed like they were going for just as much (or more) on ebay as the new dia compe copies. This is going to be my first bike, so I'm a little anxious to get it built up, and am less inclined to wait around for the good deals. Anyway, my question is, what else do I need? I keep reading about down tube cable stops for the braze ons...are these necessary? Also, I'm pretty sure the down tube shifters on my bike were clamp on (i.e. they are held on with a metal band). I'm going to take everything to the lbs next week to be built up, but I want to make sure I have everything that I need, that they aren't likely to have in stock.

Thanks in advance. I'm pretty sure this will be my last newb question for a while.
