I have Randonneurs. Only one flat in two years.. that wasn't due to user error anyway (ripped my tube a couple times at the valve due to a cheap pump). I run over junk all the time with no fear. The one flat was from a big shard of glass that would've probably flattened any tire. They feel quick and grippy enough for me.

Personally, never had any problems mounting. Maybe the cross's are different.. *shrug*
