The $70 is for a full tune up of everything. Maybe it is too much, I don't know. But I'm not going to stress about it. I'm happy to have them do it as long as they do a good job, and I think they will.
Not sure why I'm a good candidate for not buying on internet. The MSRP on the bike was $3,300 plus tax. I got it for $2,200 even. I took it to a LBS for a professional fitting for $60, now a full tune up for $70. I'm pretty sure I came out ahead.
I remain completely unconvinced that buying from an LBS is important. To me, it seems like a way for manufacturers and bike shops to keep prices high by limiting competition. I give my LBS a certain level of business on accessories, etc. so that they know me and will hopefully provide good service if I need it. But I see no reason at all to pay the premiums they ask for.
