I own and run a car dealer and have walked customers like you right out the door...i would rather sell a car to someone who has some respect for others. I will also be more happy to bend over backwards in terms of extra service and discounts to someone who I think deserves it. You don't. maybe thats why you don;t get the good deals as easy!
You remind me of customers who come in with a quote from "car cost" and tell me that they know how much I pay for my cars and they offer me $100 over that price. That's nice for you and surely someone out there might take that price but have you looked around? I have the cars in the showroom, its well lit, its heated and it has A/C, I have sales guys helping you and someone offering you coffee etc, etc. I have rent to pay and expenses...its not always about you. I'm sure your way works but I'm also sure that you get the worst service because of it. Why would you deserve more? That old adage..."you get what you pay for!"

Fly off the handle much?
How on God's good Earth can you survive in a customer-focused busness when you conflate simply not wanting to pay more than I have to for value with being disrespectful?
Or for some inane reason do you really think daring to have the temerity to actually try to buy something for less than the price listed on some piece of paper is some sort of personal attack?
You seem to have a problem separating business from your personal animosities.
You sound just like the type of car dealer I'd want to take my car in to get serviced just so I could then report back to your manufacturer what kind of crappy service with a nasty attitude that you probably provide.
Last time a jackass salesman tried to treat me like that when I showed up to buy a car, I went right over his head to the sales manager, matter-of-factly told the manager I had been planning on offering $30K cash for one of the cars on his lot, but since the salesman wouldn't deal with me I was only going to offer him - the manager - $28K and he could either take it or leave it. And I didn't want the salesman to get a dime.
He took it.
If he had "walked me out", his manufacturer's regional office would have gotten a well-documented, factual letter regarding his crappy service, probably along with a copy of a sales invoice from a competitor.
Too bad if my standards are too high for you. It's MY money I'm spending, and I owe you NONE of it.
FWIW, I do high-end computer consulting. REAL high end.
And I never fell like I'm ENTITLED to anything from any of my customers. Heck, many has been the time the moment the reason I was hired has been addressed my money flow from that customer ended immediately.
And before you get too smug with yourself over that fact, I've had many repeat engagements with those very same customers after that happened. Because I EARN what I get, and my customers know it.
Because, unlike you, I never lose track of who the customer is.
