Thanks all for the tips.

I have measured the chain recently and it doesn't need to be replaced (using the ruler method.) I was going to change if the chain ends up too long and I had to use the special Campy connecting links ($$ anyway.)

I am going to try the following:

- Order a KMC Master Link. It will be useful later even if I don't need to shorten the chain now.
- Install the compact crank without disconnecting the chain.
- Depending how the original chain was measured, I might not need to shorten it. I will put it in small-small and see if there are any slack in the chain.
- If so, KMC Mater Link it is.

Blacksquid, I will see if I spot you in this year's MS Bike Ride I should be able to see an orange bike.
