As an occasional lurker I can't say how the forum here leans, but I just picked up a Trek 7100 after looking at several brands and models at a couple of LBS' in my area. I was hoping NOT to like the Trek quite honestly, but the 7100 just felt right to me. Even within the Trek family I see many opinions on which model is "best", but it's all just personal preference and what works best for each individual. I would hope everyone out there looks at several options before purchasing.

On a related note, the biggest "gripe" I have around here is any advice on what bike/components to buy always ends up busting my budget! Good advice that points towards quality rather than cost.
