One of my biggest drivers in buying bikes, and other products, from established first world nations is environmental. I have more confidence in the fact that regulations exist, and are enforced, in the first over the developing world.
My bikes and where they're from:
Look - France
Pashley - England
Rocky Mountain X2 - Canada
Kona JtS - Taiwan
Norco beater - China
From what I understand, Look forks and some other components are made in france, but their frames are made in a Look factory in Algeria. I'll try to find the source.
