I agree. Just beginning and depending on what kind of riding your doing it may fit the bill. Fit is everything or you will hate biking plain and simple. I think on mtn bikes there is a bit more flexibility than on road bikes as far as fit. But look it over in person......I assume it is local rather than a buy and ship deal??? Make sure the frame is not cracked or any weak areas exist. Take it to a local bike shop for a look over. I have never seen one yet that would turn someone away. Make sure you tell them you plan to do business with them or maybe even buy a water bottle in return for their time. Just good business.
The only drawback I can see is the bike is 17 years old. In 1993 Slick Willy was our crooked president; the 80's had been gone for 4 years; I was just starting out in the world from college; bike technology has come a little ways since then; and most of all........it was 17 years ago!
