I never bought another pair of their shoes again. If manufacturers are so "proud" of their Made in China products, why do they always print it on easy to remove labels? This shoud not be allowed. Companies that sell bikes in the US made in China should not be allowed to hide this fact with easy-peel labels. "Made in China" shoud be under the clearcoat so owners can display it "with pride".
Assuming you are trying to offer something that is constructive, what would your suggestion do? It sounds like you really have quite a vengeful streak. So owners can display it "with pride." Pray tell, does it sooth your "dignified outrage" when you see people riding bikes that says "Made in China" in huge letters or is it merely a case of Schadenfreude? Does that make you feel better? More importantly, why do you give a flying hoot about the country of origin of other people's bikes? Are you really that vain?
Alternatively, say that in the unlikely event that a companies do decide to shut down operations overseas as their sales have dropped, is it really then so much better? The cost of intro-level bikes will surely go up, and fewer people will get into the sport. Would this be a succor for your elitism?
