The ride -

It was a very nice day, although a bit breezy from the NW. The first leg is mostly west and a little north in farm country. Therre was absolutely no shelter from the wind, you put your head down and pedal. I tried to ride a bit with everyone, and all are a very good group of people. It was very nice to meet them today. The pictures below are at the halfway point. We stopped at the local quicky mart. The second leg was straight north for about 2.5 miles. The wind made it slow going but there was some cover towards the end. And then we turned east. I have a lot of reasons to go slow, but only one when going fast - I have a good tail wind. At one point bibliobob, Barretscv and I werre moving at a good pace. Barretscv said he liked the rod shifter on my bike when I reached down to up-shift to the "big" ring. I think he was a bit nervous on how squirrelly I was when shifting it. We all then had a very nice lunch. I am going to need incorporating good food at the end of any group ride more often.
