I had the same issue last summer after ratcheting up my mileage too quickly. My doctor recommended light running on a good surface (track), 800 mg ibuprofen, and ice after each run. He also recommended stretching exercises several times per day. I recovered pretty quickly and was able to run my Olympic distance 2 weeks later. In full disclosure, I am not a doctor and would recommend checking with yours prior to taking any medication, even OTC ibuprofen.
