Also, after making sure it will fit your rim (which it most likely will, most rims that can hold 25 can hold 29), also make sure it will fit inside your fork and stays.

If you're wondering if it's too big to ride fast, the answer is no. A tire that much bigger will mostly just feel more comfortable, although it will have slightly more rolling resistance. It's a personal choice. Since you're putting purple tires on a bike, I'm sure you're not worried about maximizing speed, anyway.

I ride around town with 32mm tires on my fixie. They are still very fast and also very comfortable.
