It was such a non-issue, I'm amazed people are scared of it. Local anesthetic, about 25 minutes. There was no pain at the time, just chatting with the doctor while he worked, and afterwards for maybe 4 days about as much soreness as if I'd made a small cut on a finger or something. Bleeding on and off for 2 days, due to the very mobile nature of the site, total about enough to fill a thimble about 1/4 full. Absolutely no side effects other than no more pregnancy. Zero change in anything related to sexual activity.
