As for the procedure... they keep that OR cold, and I was awake enough to notice that (and not enjoy it).
Also, they use some high heat to cauterize something or other down there, and I was awake enough to notice that burning flesh smell (and not enjoy it).
And I was awake enough to follow the conversation the doctor and nurses were having... about some totally random thing I've forgotten now, but it seemed pretty strange to me at the time.

That's the worst of it, though. Totally not a big deal.
