I am not critisizing the OP for his actions as I was not there and don't know the traffic conditions but in my mind, if a vehicle (cop or otherwise) is parked in the bike lane it's just another obstacle I have to go around. On my route to work there is always some vehicle illegally parked in either the bike lane or on the right side of the street so it's a constant occurance. Not to mention the pedestrians who are running across the street in between traffic and not at a proper crossing light. I figure it's all part of the game. Although yesterday I did see a parking control officer getting ready to ticket a UPS truck for being illegally parked in No Parking zone. I congratulated him...lol

As for running redlights? If you do that on my route to work or back you will most certainly be killed or seriously injured. During off peak hours I'd have to admit I will go through a red light only after I have fully stopped and made sure it is safe to proceed. When I say safe...that includes checking that there are no cops around to see what I am doing.
