Quarq CinQo unboxing/initial impressions

I've had my wired Powertap SL for about 2 years. I've hated it for maybe 18 months - but this thread isn't about the PT, it's about its replacement...

awwwww yea. Crankset is the FSA SLK Light w/Super Road rings. 50/34, obviously.

Also included were:
  • a BB mount and epoxy-putty, either to be used for attaching the magnet. Depending on the frame and BB you use, one or the other may be better. I ended up using the BB mount, and no stacked magnets.
  • two magents for stacking, if your frame or BB are too far away from the cinqo's sensors
  • the wave washer for the crankset
  • BB installation instructions
  • a folder that looks like it contains a cd, but really it just tells you to go download the trial version of WKO+
  • the installation/user guide.

Note that I didn't mention the bottom bracket itself I'd ordered two, but they accidentally got left out of the box. A quick call to Quarq, and they were at my doorstep the next morning. It was an understandable mistake (sh*t happens), yet they still went overboard to make it up to me. Awesome. Their customer service kicks ass!

Back to the unpacking. Quite a contrast to the aluminum campy Veloce crankset it's replacing..

I'm no WW, but I was curious..

FSA BB-8681..

The hardest part of the installation by far was removing my old veloce UT crank and the cups, but even that didn't take too long.
