I have seen a rather cleaver shop stool made from the rear triangle by removing the DT and TT close to the Seat tube. Makes for a nice adjustible stool height...just a thought. I also know of a friend who had a cracked BB repaired by welding a shell over the cracked area and had the BB threads chased...just another thought.
