Hey Guys!

Decided to finally join the forum and learn more about cycling, specifically road cycling! I've been cycling for years on mountain bikes and I have recently decided to look into a road bikes as a small graduation present to myself.

Fortunately, I was gifted one! It's a used Dawes Lightning Sport. I can't really complain since it was given to me for free.

I would like to do some mods on it, I have some money left over since I was actually going to purchase a bike before, which I ended up not purchasing due to receiving this Dawes. I'm not sure what components this bike has because its not the 2010 version listed on the Dawes website and I'm not sure what year this is. I'm attaching some pics, so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

A couple of questions:

- Are these parts compatible with Shimano 105?
- Can I upgrade the shifters from the stem to integrated shifters/brake levers
