Long ago, I put on some cheap 3 sided brake pads on an old Continental. These were old type black block pads squeezed into an aluminum shell. Most of these had four sides holding the rubber block in. These brakes only had three for some reason. Well I put them in backwards, rolled off down the street and while at a fair clip, tried to stop. The rubber blocks shot out like rubber bullets, leaving me with metal on metal for brakes. I was very lucky there were no cars in the intersection.
