I put modest miles on a couple of wheelsets with Specialized and Suntour Sprint cartridge bearing hubs a number of years ago - they never needed overhaul.
I have a Velocity wheel/hub with same that has probably a couple of thousand miles on it.
Park tool recomends 2 0r 3k miles before pulling the seals and regreasing the bearings. You can just run them until they get noisy when spun and listened to off the bike and then replace them. I have gotten as much as 15k miles on a set on the front wheel.
