Hey guys,
As you can tell I'm new here on the forums. I've been riding MTB for a few years now getting better at it and recently I decided I wanted to dabble in the world of road biking. However, instead of plopping down a grand for a nice new bike, I decided to pick up an older "10-speed" like bike to see how I like it and to see if I'd be interested in it.
I came across an older Miyata 310 in great shape on Craigslist with Shimano 105 components (
AFAIK, I'm pretty sure these are the stock components) in my size (based on height and inseam; 62-64cm) for $200obo. I don't know if I'm ready to plop down $200 on this bike and it's been on sale for over a week with no buyer so I'm sure that he's willing to negotiate. My question is how much is the Miyata in great shape worth? I'd preferably not like to spend more than $175, however is $150 or $160 too low of an offer?
Are there any other better options that I have available? (Besides scoring a jackpot at a yardsale/goodwill on an old "junk" bike; trust me, i've been trying!

).
Thanks in advance guys! (I also apologize if this is in the wrong forum; I was split between the vintage section and the road bike section, excuse me for my noob-ness!

)

- Jeff
PS Sorry for the crappy picture, that's craigslist for you...
