I don't race and harldy know the scene so, do other states ever come do the races? I'm talking "non Lance TDF" level teams.
I ask becaue when I played softball tournaments, teams form other states would sometimes show.
I only have one data point -- but it involves a Cat 3, myself.
A few weeks after upgrading from 4 to 3 in NorCal, I went up to Oregon with the family to visit my wife's aunt in Beaverton. Took the bike, of course, and was able to race at the PIR. They have a weekly series on the car race track. Great pavement, big group, flat, and windy. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to hang in the 1/2/3 race but it was right in my comfort zone.
