So last weekend I joined the Wheelmen ride that went up GMR and GRR to Baldy for a really fantastic ride. I see why it's touted so much on this board. The last 12 miles before Baldy Village I encountered at most 3 cars on the ride.

Coming back down was another story. I encountered dozens of cars and motorcycles tear-assing up the road. Near where GRR turns into GMR I and two other cyclists came close to getting killed by 3 BMWs in tight formation flying up the road driving well over from their side of the highway. I'm curious how you all deal with it. Do you avoid riding up there on weekends ? - or just hope for the best ? Have you heard about many cyclists being injured by motorists on those roads ?
