Schwinn continued to put "Chicago" on head badges until the bankruptcy in October, 1992, since the company remained headquartered there until the new owners (Scott Sports) moved the company headquarters to Colorado in 1993.

Schwinn did continue to produce bikes domestically in Waterford, WI (Paramounts) and Greenville, MS, after the 1983 Chicago factory closure.
