Thanks to everyone for all of the input. I received a call from my local LBS earlier this week to let me know that they had an unridden 2003 R1000 in my size in stock that they would sell me for only a hundred more than the 2005 R700. I went and tried it out, and my decision was made. The bike came with the CAAD7 frame, full Ultegra drivetrain, and a Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheelset and it rode great. I was formally fitted today and will be picking up the bike later this week.

I still feel that Felt does give you a great bike for the price, and I would recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing a new road bike. At the end of the day, however, I just loved the way the Cannondale responded when I took it out on the road.
