Hey everyone. This is P.J. Rabice with Road ID here. I received a link to this thread from a twitter follower and thought i would weigh in and provide some answers and clarifications.

1.The engraving on all of our IDs has a lifetime warranty. No questions asked. So, if your ID tag text is fading please contact customer service at 800.345.6336 or via email at CustomerService@RoadID.com. We pride ourselves on not only our quality product but also our customer service.

2. Regarding the fading tag text - in the past year we've made improvements to the engraving process which resulted in higher quality, longer lasting ID tags. But, like all products, nothing is perfect so please let us know if your product is not living up to your standards.

3. And lastly, I would confirm that ALL of our IDs are in fact Laser Engraved. Unlike rotary engraving, laser engraving does not leave a large indention embedded in the stainless steel. I know it may look like the text is “printed” rather than engraved, but i can assure that it is not. The marks you see have actually become part of the stainless steel and is better and more durable than the engraving you might be accustomed to seeing.
