I have 2 Comp models. One is an older 2006 model and the other is a 2010. The 2006 is my bad weather/long distance/commuter and the 2010 is my cross race bike. I also have a dedicated carbon roadie. I rode the Tricross for road for about a year and while it functioned fine and I had no problems keeping up, it wasn't what I would call inspiring. My road bike is simply fun to ride. I'm probably not going any faster, but it sure is much more fun and is noticeably quicker and hills aren't as much a challenge. What I love about the cross bike is the ability to take off down a trail or dirt road without thinking twice. That part is quite fun. I'd never do that on my road bike.
I'd say keep it and use it for when you're planning on doing more than just road riding. Get a dedicated road bike for those times when some fast tarmac fun is in order.
