I was up late last night, though, so I passed on riding in and drove instead. If had ridden I would have gotten wet... and cold too because there was about a 10 degree drop in temps with the front.
But at least you would have ridden!

How far up did you go? I'm planning on a 2-3 day trip up the C&O myself at some point this summer.

Welcome back. I noticed you'd seemed mysteriously absent for a while! Glad you had a good ride.
My commute last night took a turn for the worse when I realized that I felt a bit of a lump under my right foot as I pedaled that I normally didn't feel. Turns out the nylon or plastic resin or whatever my cheap-ass stock pedals are made of started to fall apart on the right pedal. Not bad - almost 3,000 miles for POS pedals on an X-box bike! Cannibalized the right pedal from another set I had laying around - so mismatched pedals for now. Left pedal of cannibalized set was already toast. Time to look for a set of metal platforms that I can use the toe clips on that I have. I'd consider clipless except for $$$ and the fact that my bike's pedals are 1/2" not 9/16".
So I rode in today w/ my mismatched pedals. Bit of a headwind, warm, but not as muggy as yesterday.
