My LBS recommended the Trek 1.1 @ $649 as entry level. Looks like a great bike and is probobly what I'll purchase if I don't find a nice used deal for the same or less amount of money. Just getting back into cycling too, I can't see spending $1k+ on a bike that 'might' wind up stashed in the basement.
