Bill, I'd just pull the seatpost and stick the card into the seat tube. At least it then stays with the bike. I think provenance is significant for vintage bikes, as it is for more conventional antiquaria.

If you haven't plugged the BB holes in some way, I'd recommend doing so. Could probably get a Campy sleeve somewhere, maybe even at Wastyn's! Combine the drive with a trip to Superdawg, or pizza at Lou Malnati's. There's an Ikea there, too ... you'd then have company on the drive!
