Zipp 404 full carbon clincher

OK - I am sure I am not the first to post this here but seeing that SRAM finally released the Zipp 404 full carbon clincher. Tagline is the "new aero shape" wide rim profile and full carbon clincher.....

Mind you I haven't seen one yet, but I am thinking the following:

1. The torroidal shape patent is running out. Zipp needs a new patented shape - pheonix or some such thing they are calling it, to keep it's market. I doubt this one is really any better, but I am sure they will cook up some target numbers that show it is. I just hope people realize this one is pretty much full marketing.

2. Full carbon is now revolutionary and game changing? That's sort of like Shimano now saying that tucking the cables under the bar wrap in 7900 is "revolutionary".

3. I saw an MSRP of $2700 on a set.

4. I wouldn't be starting this thread if my Zipp rep had actually returned my calls of if they had processed my dealer app as they said they would. That being said - in the interest of full disclosure - I have in fact applied to be a Zipp rep, but this combined with the 101 - torroidal aluminum set they are trying to sell at exorbitant $$.....leaves me with a sort of poopy taste in my mouth.
