Amazed at how the crankset cleaned up

I decided to start cleaning the Nervar 150 crankset from the mid-60's Gitane today. The chrome was pockmarked with rust although it didn't look real deep except for a couple of places.

I didn't do a complete Khatfull treatment and the polishing is yet to come but so far I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. The pedals were a real pain to get off but they evenutally did. Total time so far is about an hour after I got the cotter pins out.
